Abstract. Enhancement the capabilities for the four-ball friction machine experimental data processing shown as “wear-scar” indicator is demonstrated. This, in particular, allow to directly predict the extreme pressure performance of the oils based on the friction machine test results, which are determined on gear test benches or directly in transmissions.
